30.11.2024. Mental Cruelty + Butcher Babies + Cradle Of Filth @ Le Forum, Vauréal

I went to this concert because of Cradle of Filth, whose album Midian listened in highschool. And that was many years ago, more than 15. I went with Hoël, a colleague from work, and CoF was one of his favorite bands in the past. But this concert became much more than a nostalgia trip. Mental Cruelty were cool, even if their music is not much to my taste. The vocalist is a real beast, and the music is so evil. Butcher Babies were amazing, some kind of nu metal, alternative metal? They were so groovy and they unlocked something in me. First time in my life I wanted to go into mosh pit. In one moment the singer asked that we split in two groups, and she entered in the middle of the dance floor. She asked that we start running around her. I took the chance, and it was AMAZING! I was laughing like a little child. I was happy because I managed, I feel good in my life, and I'm

brave to start new challenges. I changed! And I'm not scared! Thank you Butcher Babies for this revelation! :) And then Cradle of Filth! After so many years I see them live! And they were great! I enjoyed seeing Dani Filth and hearing his voice in real life. He sounds great! The musicians were also superb, they played flawlessly and I recognised a lot of songs! They played a nice mix of old and new stuff and it was a super surprise when they played Malice Through the Looking Glass. I totally forgot this song, and it's an awesome one! We were singing melody as they were playing and I was really enjoying! The keyboardists voice was also amazing, and she is completing Dani Filth perfectly. Dani Filth was less talkative than the other band leaders, but that is also a part of his band character. This sparked a conversation with Hoël, how before there was not a lot of information about the bands, at the beginnings of internet, and the only sources were magazines, and how bands were mystical... Because of that. Imagine CoF before...
